Getting Started

How do I set up PasteVault?

After installing, follow the 3-step onboarding: 1) Enable the keyboard in Settings → General → Keyboards. 2) Allow paste access when prompted. 3) Start copying — everything is saved automatically.

How do I enable the keyboard?

Go to Settings → General → Keyboards → Add New Keyboard. Select PasteVault under Third-Party Keyboards, then tap it and enable Allow Full Access. Full Access is required for the keyboard to save your clipboard history.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does PasteVault capture my clipboard?

Every time you switch to the PasteVault keyboard, it automatically reads your clipboard and saves any new content. You can also open the main app to capture the latest clipboard. Everything is stored locally on your device.

Why do I see “PasteVault would like to paste”?

This is an iOS system prompt. To allow permanent access, go to Settings → PasteVault → Paste from Other Apps → Allow. This stops the popup from appearing each time.

Is my clipboard data private?

Yes. All your clipboard history is stored locally on your device. No data is ever sent to any server. We have zero access to your clips.

How do I paste from PasteVault?

While typing in any app, tap the globe icon on the keyboard to switch to PasteVault. Tap any clip to insert it into the text field. For images, tap to copy them to the clipboard, then long-press to paste.

Can PasteVault save images?

Yes. When you copy an image, PasteVault saves it automatically. If you copy an image URL from a browser, PasteVault will also download and save the actual image alongside the link.

How does auto-cleanup work?

PasteVault automatically deletes old clips based on your retention settings (default: 30 days). You can adjust this in the app’s Settings. Pinned clips are never auto-deleted.

What does the upgrade include?

The free trial gives you full access for 7 days. After that, you can view your 2 most recent clips. A one-time purchase of $2.99 unlocks unlimited clipboard history forever. No subscription — pay once, keep forever.

How do I restore my purchase?

Open PasteVault, go to the upgrade screen, and tap Restore Purchase. This will check your Apple Account for an existing purchase and unlock full access automatically.

Can I use PasteVault on iPad?

Yes. PasteVault supports both iPhone and iPad running iOS 17 or later.

How do I use the widget?

Long-press your home screen, tap the + button, search for PasteVault, and add the widget. It shows your most recent text clips for quick access.

How do I use the Share Extension?

In any app, tap the Share button and select PasteVault. This saves text, URLs, or images directly to your clipboard history without needing to copy them first.
